چکیده
Background: Selection based on traits such as average daily gain (ADG) and carcass quality in commercial pig populations have drawn attention of swine breeders due to the correlation with growth consumer preference for composition, respectively. The association between melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4R) gene, which encodes G-protein-coupled ADG quality, been well documented. study was conducted determine effects MC4R/TaqI PIT-1/RsaI polymorphisms total 576 Duroc pigs at national breeding farms Vietnam. Methods: After performance test, desired including ADG, IF LD were measured. (g/day) calculated live weight divided by number days from birth 100 kg, BF can be captured position P2 (6-8 cm away body midline last rib level) Ultrasound machine Aloska SSD 500V. Genomic DNA collected genotyped observe polymorphism MC4R PIT-1. Result: Three genotypes AA, AG andGG gene andAA, AB BB PIT-1 found studied population. observed frequencies GG 0.09, 0.41 0.50 (MC4R gene) 0.37, 0.47 0.16, G allele B (PIT-1) more positive LD. Specifically, individuals carrying genotype had higher 50 gram lower 1.4 mm than AA genotype. In 37 1.9 mm, Therefore, increased selection allele, should considered contribute improvement population current

Polymorphisms in FGFBP1 and FGFBP2 genes associated with carcass and meat quality traits in chickens.
In the past, the focus of broiler breeding programs on yield and carcass traits improvement led to problems related to meat quality. Awareness of public concern for quality resulted in inclusion of meat quality traits in the evaluation process. Nevertheless, few genes associated with meat quality attributes are known. Previous studies mapped quantitative trait loci for weight at 35 and 42 ...
متن کاملGenetic analyses of growth, real-time ultrasound, carcass, and pork quality traits in Duroc and Landrace pigs: I. Breed effects.
Knowledge of breed effects on carcass and pork quality traits is required to develop commercial crossbreeding programs that emphasize product quality. A 2 x 2 diallel mating system involving Landrace and Duroc pigs was used to estimate individual heterosis, direct breed effects and reciprocal cross differences for post-weaning growth, real-time ultrasound, carcass, and pork quality traits. Data...
متن کاملPolymorphisms of the Ovine Leptin Gene and its Association with Growth and Carcass Traits in Three Iranian Sheep Breeds
Leptin (LEP), the expression product of the obese gene produced primarily in the adipose tissue, is related to feed intake, growth and lipid metabolism. The aim of this study was to study the possible association between polymorphism of the LEP gene with growth and carcass traits among three Iranian sheep breeds of the Shal, Zandi and Zel varieties. A total of 180 purebred animals of the Shal, ...
متن کاملAssociation of Candidate Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms Related to Candidate Genes in Patients With Schizophrenia
Introduction: Schizophrenia is a chronic heterogenic neurodevelopment disorder. Many genes interfere in the development of SCZ. All four genes, NrCAM, PRODH, ANK3, and ANKK1, which were evaluated in this study, were previously reported to be associated with Schizophrenia. The NrCAM contributes to creating cognitive deficiencies through the CAM’s signaling pathway. PRODH plays a vital role in cr...
متن کاملDetection of linkage between genetic markers and genes that affect growth and carcass traits in pigs.
Segregation of paternal marker alleles in the progeny of a single boar was used to estimate linkage between the marker genes and associations of these genes with quantitative trait loci (QTL). The sire was heterozygous at four polymorphic marker loci, haptoglobin (HP), glucosephosphate isomerase (GPI), phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (PGD), and esterase D (ESD), and sired 30 litters during an 8-...
